OneDrive, Microsoft's online storage and file sharing app, might seem like an odd technology to follow. However, I have using it since it was first released as SkyDrive. OneDrive has had its ups and downs. It is often compared to Dropbox and other file storage/sharing solutions.

I think OneDrive is very uniquely placed as a solution. First, it is fully integrated into Office 365. All of your documents can be saved easily to your OneDrive cloud storage. Second, Microsoft has fully integrated it into SharePoint online as a replace for the former SharePoint MySite personal storage. Functionality of this SharePoint storage feature is greatly improved with OneDrive.

Microsoft has also integrated OneDrive into its collaboration tools via Yammer and Office Online. Users can collaboratively edit a shared Office document stored on OneDrive. This capability has been part of Office for some time. However, the ability to discuss the work simultaneously through Yammer is a fairly new feature.

I am intrigued by how Microsoft may leverage this tool in the future with the new capabilities introduce with the Office Graph.
